In this piece news the researchers identified the phenomenon using leprosy. Whwn they look at skin lesions in leprosy patients their found that two different immune proteins were present. The patients with more serious form of leprosy associated with a viral response interferon beta.The genes for interferon beta is a virus fighting protein.
